Monroe township has a new service provider for
RESIDENTIAL TRASH AND RECYCLING PICKUP
Shackleford's Disposal is excited to announce we have been chosen by Monroe Township to provide residential trash hauling services from 11/24-11/27. We want to welcome everyone to Shackleford's Disposal, we are looking forward to working with you. Here at Shackleford's Disposal we work diligently to provide good, clean, professional service that other companies may otherwise overlook. Trash pick-up is collected weekly every Tuesday except for holiday weeks when the pick-up is on Wednesday. Items should be placed out the night prior to the day of pick-up. A 96-gallon Waste tote will be provided to each household. You may use your own container or bags if the container has a lid, handles and does not weigh more than 50 pounds. To initiate service, please call Shackleford' s Disposal at 740-366-0001. Refuse service is billed quarterly at a rate of $17.00 per month, per household or a senior rate of $15.30 per month for individuals 65 years and older. We look forward to servicing your community and building great relationships within the township.
Recycling will also be available and is optional. Pickup for recycling will be every other Tuesday and will be added to your regular quarterly bill at a rate of $9.95 a month. One rollout container will be provided at no cost. Please call us if you are interested in this service.
Residents can typically recycle the following items (with subscribed service)
Plastic bottles and jugs, Glass bottles and jars, Aluminum cans, Steel cans and lids, Paperboard (like cereal boxes), Office Paper, Envelopes and junk mail, Newspapers, magazines and inserts, Telephone books and catalogs.

On Wednesday, June 26, HB 315, the Township Omnibus Bill, passed the Ohio House by a unanimous vote of 93 to 0. The bill will now head to the Senate when the legislature returns in the fall.
The legislation includes the following 15 provisions:

Specifies Reasons to Declare an Emergency
Removes Approval of Fire Specifications
Eliminates Ballot Requirement to Fix Township Hall
Establishes a Community Host Fee
